Learn French in France: About the Courses

Having funThe name ”Brush Up” does mean what it suggests — to brush up your French you need to have some French before you start. These courses are not suitable for complete novices.

However your French doesn't have to be very strong. Each course is divided into three levels of varying ability: debutantes, moderate & advanced. However strong or weak your command of the language, you'll be grouped with those of similar ability.

Although some use Renouveau courses to brush up their French for business purposes, most participants come for pure enjoyment. The teaching is more hands-on than purely academic. There are discussions of current events and the use of slang accompanied with hoots of laughter. Your grasp of colloquial French is likely to be vastly improved!

Learning French in France

While not officially linked to the University of the Third Age we find a lot of the people who attend year after year are in later life and lively minded with it. As stated elsewhere, it's a lovely meeting place for singles of both sexes, with ready companionship in a relaxed, no-pressure ambience.
